What if all it took to be transported from your home city to another large European city was the opening of a door ? On September 13th and 16th, SNCF and TBWA\Paris made it happen.
Colorful doors were placed in major SNCF destination cities. Thanks to some incredible technological achievements, which provided a spotless real-time experience and a custom-made digital screen that fit perfectly inside a doorframe, the doorways acted as connector portals between cities. After opening the door, participants were able to play with a mime artist in Milan, have their portraits drawn in Brussels, dance with a hip-hop crew in Barcelona, share a romantic boat ride on Geneva Lake, and join a group of young Germans on a bike ride across Stuttgart. These interactive and fun experiences not only created multicultural links among Europeans, but also enabled us all to realize how truly close we all are.
A friend of mine at SCAD brought this ad to class the other day and I absolutely fell in love with the idea. It’s heartwarming, fun, and a great way to use technology to (literally) connect people. I love how digital advertising is bridging physical spaces and creating these amazing interactive experiences. Major props to SNCF and TBWA/Paris!
