Last week I talked about traveling in style, but how do you travel with tech? Design Milk has a great write-up today of how Google Glass is aiming to transform the way we travel. Some of the featured points are about partnerships between travel agencies, airlines, or hotels, but the ones towards the end interest me the most, specifically Word Lens for Glass. Imagine being able to look at a phrase written in another language and have Glass translate it for you? It’d make getting around so much easier (especially in places where the alphabets are different…). I tend to scoff at the use of Google Glass, but here’s on instance where I can really see it being practical…although there are definitely places where stepping off a bus or plane with Glass attached to your face could make you a distinctive target.
