David and I just got back from a weekend on Tybee Island, right off the Georgia coast by Savannah. It’s only a few hours drive from Atlanta (wellllll, if traffic loves you that day). We’d been out that way before for St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah and a long weekend in Hilton Head, S.C., but this was our first time to Tybee. Unlike in trips past, however, this time we brought a tent! We called River’s End, an RV/campground just three blocks from the beach, homebase, and ventured out for some delicious shore grub at North Shore Bar and Grill, a dolphin-seeking excursion with Captain Mike’s, and a stroll around Savannah—one of my favorite port cities (but more on that later!). Our time here in the South is winding down, so it was wonderful to spend a few days in one of the places we love most—even if it did rain on us!
